How Exxel Pacific Improved Construction Visibility and Project Coordination With ECAM
About Exxel Pacific
Exxel Pacific, Inc. is a Washington-based construction company founded in 1989. The company delivers a wide range of projects across the Pacific Northwest, including commercial developments, mixed-use buildings, multifamily housing, student housing, hospitality projects, medical facilities, and historic renovations. Known for its “Team Owned and Team Built” philosophy, Exxel Pacific prioritizes collaboration, transparency, and efficiency across every phase of construction.

The Challenge for Exxel Pacific
Construction sites are dynamic environments where logistics, safety, and coordination must be managed simultaneously.
For Site Logistics Coordinator Mark Rosenwald, gaining a complete understanding of how the jobsite interacted with its surrounding environment was critical to maintaining efficiency and minimizing disruptions.
Key operational challenges included coordinating deliveries with multiple trades, managing equipment staging and laydown areas, monitoring traffic flow around the site, and maintaining positive relationships with neighboring businesses and residents. These activities required reliable visual insight into daily jobsite operations, something traditional ground-level monitoring alone could not provide.
All deliveries must be scheduled and coordinated with trades, using the means we have available. The overhead camera helps witness the process, and it helps me refine my site plan, deliveries, and laydown.

How ECAM Helped Resolve Exxel Pacific’s Biggest Concerns
To provide full-site visibility, ECAM installed an overhead time-lapse camera system on a nearby building, creating a bird’s-eye view of the construction site and surrounding environment.
The camera captured images every ten minutes throughout the life of the project, building a detailed visual archive of site activity.
Key actions included:
- Overhead Time-Lapse Deployment: ECAM installed a camera system on an adjacent structure to provide a clear aerial view of the entire jobsite.
- Continuous Visual Documentation: The camera captured images every ten minutes, creating a comprehensive timeline of construction progress.
- Live Feed Accessibility: The live camera feed was integrated into the Exxel Pacific website, allowing stakeholders to monitor project activity in real time.
- Operational Insight: The image library enabled teams to review logistics decisions, delivery timing, and overall site operations on a day-to-day and week-to-week basis.
Having an overhead perspective is an invaluable tool for watching how you’re interacting with the community and who your neighbors are. You’ll notice patterns in activity on the time lapse that you might miss on the ground level.

The ECAM Difference
The overhead time-lapse system quickly became a valuable operational tool for Exxel Pacific, supporting not only security but also project coordination, transparency, and marketing.
Key outcomes included:
- Complete project documentation from early construction through final build stages
- Improved logistics planning through better visibility of delivery schedules and equipment placement
- Greater stakeholder transparency via shared access to the image library and live feed
- Enhanced marketing and presentation materials using time-lapse video clips and captured imagery
- Improved team communication through a shared visual reference for construction progress
The system proved so valuable that Exxel Pacific began exploring additional deployments across other projects, recognizing the broader benefits of time-lapse monitoring beyond traditional security.
I’ve had great success working with ECAM on projects in and around Seattle. These cameras function as more than traditional security; you’ve got to think of it as documenting progress.
