Accessibility Policy

This accessibility policy (the “Policy”) outlines the actions that ECAM Technologies Corporation (“ECAM”), has put in place, either directly or through GardaWorld and will continue to implement to improve opportunities for individuals with disabilities. These actions are in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

1. Commitment to Accessibility

ECAM is dedicated to providing goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities. We aim to give people with disabilities the same opportunity to access and benefit from our services as other customers. ECAM will communicate with individuals with disabilities in a manner that considers their needs.

Our personnel communicate with clients and others through various methods, including face-to-face interactions, letters, telephone calls, and electronic communications. We will consider accessibility needs when determining the appropriate method and form of communication.

2. Service Animals

ECAM welcomes individuals with disabilities who use service animals. Service animals are allowed on parts of our premises that are open to the public or other third parties, in accordance with applicable laws.

3. Support Persons

Clients and others with disabilities who need the assistance of a support person will be allowed to have that support person accompany them on ECAM’s premises. Measures will be taken to address any confidentiality or privilege issues raised by the presence of a support person, determined on a case-by-case basis.

4. Assistive Devices

Clients and other individuals with disabilities may use their own assistive devices to access services provided by ECAM. ECAM will ensure that our staff are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by individuals when accessing our services and any assistive devices made available by ECAM.

5. Training

ECAM will provide training to staff who deal with clients and other third parties, and those responsible for client service policy development, as required by applicable laws. Training will include:

  • An overview of applicable laws related to the provision of services to individuals with disabilities.
  • An overview of the Policy and any other practices, policies, or procedures developed by ECAM with respect to the provision of services to individuals with disabilities.
  • Information on how to interact and communicate with individuals with various types of disabilities, including those who use assistive devices, support persons, and/or service animals.
  • Instruction on how to use any assistive devices that ECAM may have available to assist individuals with disabilities to access services at ECAM.
  • Instruction on what to do if an individual with a disability is having difficulty accessing ECAM’s services.

ECAM will provide required training in connection with changes to the Policy or any other related policies, practices, or procedures.

6. Feedback Process

ECAM will ensure that its existing feedback processes are accessible to individuals with disabilities upon request. Feedback regarding the way ECAM provides goods and services to people with disabilities, and about the accessibility of the feedback process itself, including complaints, can be directed to the individual named below. Individuals can expect to hear back within 30 days. ECAM will arrange for accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities in respect of its feedback processes upon request. Feedback can be directed to:

7. Accessible Formats

ECAM is committed to meeting the communication needs of individuals with disabilities. We will continue to ensure that all publicly available information controlled by ECAM is provided in an accessible way upon request. ECAM will consult with the person making the request to determine their information and communication needs. ECAM will continue to notify the public about the availability of accessible formats and communication supports.

8. Websites

When required under applicable laws, ECAM will ensure that all websites controlled by ECAM, and content on those sites published after January 1, 2012 (other than closed captions and pre-recorded audio descriptions), conform with WCAG 2.0, Level AA, except where meeting the requirement is not practicable.
