Minutes before 3:00 am, ECAM detection specialists spotted an intruder on the property of an Arkansas auto dealership client. Onsite audible warnings were activated, but the intruder was undeterred, breaking into a white pickup truck parked behind the service building. The suspect attempted to start the vehicle but failed, as security personnel contacted local police dispatch with details. Officers arrived within minutes, located the suspect, and placed them under arrest.

Incidents like the one above have been increasing all over the US and Canada, but the situations can be significantly more violent in some cases- in Paragould, AR, in September, an 18-year-old suspect suspected of stealing one vehicle shot his way into a second dealership as part of an attempt to steal another.
Dealerships in Arkansas, like those nationwide, are experiencing thefts that not only involve whole vehicles but also targeted auto parts like catalytic converters, tires, and electronics. Thefts are often perpetrated by organized crime rings that can quickly strip vehicles and resell valuable parts. In Arkansas specifically, there has been a sharp increase in vehicle break-ins across various counties, including Faulkner, prompting local law enforcement to urge both private residents and business owners to adopt more stringent security measures.
